Want to continue using TikTok in India? As of now, you can’t. And that means that unless you do something about it, all the work you’ve put into it will be for nothing. Unless you unblock TikTok in India. And that’s because India has banned it, while also banning many other Chinese apps.
The main reason is that TikTok “sends data back to China.”
Except, data collection as it is, that’s no different to anything any American platform does.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram....
All social media platforms collect data and use it in some way.
However, if your app happens to come from China instead of the US, it’s automatically labeled as more dangerous, even though it may not necessarily be this way.
For TikTok, however, this is a big blow considering there have been over 600 million installs of the app since 2017, giving TikTok a huge user base in India.
And the actual reason for this TikTok ban?
Nothing to do with data, but rather a border clash that led to the death of 20 Indian soldiers.
The result? TikTok and 58 other apps being banned in India, which for some, is a huge blow, especially considering the income of many currently comes from TikTok.
To unblock TikTok in India, you are going to need to make it look like you are not in India.
Since the TikTok ban applies in India, once you leave India, at least virtually, then TikTok will work.
The key is to leave to the right country, which right now is almost any country, but that might change in the very near future.
It seems like the number of countries supporting TikTok will lower drastically in the next couple of months, with this situation giving the US a pretext to ban TikTok in the US, which would be a huge blow for TikTok.
So how do you unblock TikTok in India? By using a VPN.

There are many uses for it, but most use it to unblock entertainment platforms.

After you do that, go to your Play Store, press on the 3 bars on the top-left of the screen, and click only Account.
There, if you are connected to a VPN, you will be able to see that you can change your region.
Once you do that, restart the Play Store, and you should be able to download TikTok in India.
