How to Watch Hulu in Sweden in 3-steps (Including Account)

Want to watch Hulu in Sweden? It’s not just in Sweden that people have to search for how to do it. Hulu is not available worldwide, not including the US. That’s where guides like this come in with the solution. Except, the solution isn’t as simple as some other guides would make it seem.

3 Things Needed to Watch Hulu in Sweden

  1. Make it seem like you are watching Hulu in the US.
  2. Create a Hulu account which requires the right card. (Most guides don’t mention this. We have a solution.)
  3. Download the Hulu app, which is available only in the American app store.

Making Hulu Think You Are Watching Hulu in the US

The first step to watching Hulu in Sweden is to make Hulu think you are in the US.

This is not the hardest step in this guide, but it is the most important step if you want to watch Hulu in Sweden.

It needs to be always working.

To make Hulu think you are in the US, you are going to need to get into the US virtually.

How do you do that? By using a VPN.

A VPN = Virtual Private Network

If you never heard of a VPN before, it allows you to change your location virtually to be somewhere else.

For instance, you can look to be in Sweden while actually being in the US.

However, it’s not quite as simple as a VPN.

You need a VPN that has servers in the US, but that also has servers that support Hulu.

There’s a ton of services out there that sell because of how many servers they have, but because platforms like Hulu need to take measures against VPN services due to agreements they have in place, it’s not as simple as connecting to a US server to watch Hulu in Sweden.

And this is where PrivateVPN comes in as a service that is able to unblock Hulu.

Simply connect to a Hulu server, and you are in.

VPN services will often tell you that “you need a lot of servers, so they don’t get overloaded” but the reality is that it’s not about how many, but the quality.

At PrivateVPN, we used to do what almost all VPN providers do. We bought from hosting companies that promised x, but something was off. That’s because someone can tell us they are offering us something, but if something is offered, but the server is shared, then it’s not really what we are getting.

And this is why at PrivateVPN we partnered up with tier 1 network providers and are focusing on using our own hardware with internet capacity coming directly from these tier 1 network providers, allowing us to have full control over the speeds. One of the locations where this already applies is New York which has a Hulu server.

Of course, PrivateVPN comes with a 7-day trial with no need for a card so you can try it out for yourself.

Creating a Hulu Account in Sweden

The biggest problem people have when trying to watch Hulu in Sweden, or wherever for that matter, is the issue of creating a Hulu account.

It’s not as simple as creating any other account.

You need a card issued in the US, and that is an issue for most.

In our guides, we focus on solving the issues, though.

And we found two main ways that you can create a Hulu account in Sweden.

  1. Try Revolut. We tested this before, and their cards seem to work with Hulu. That might not always be the case, but they are super simple to sign up for.
  2. Sign up for Hulu via your app store.

Signing up for Hulu in Sweden via your app store whether Android or Apple seems to work very well, and that’s because both Google and Apple handle the payments then, and the same verification method isn’t then applied. For that, you will need to download the Hulu app first, and that’s where the next step comes in.

How to Get a Hulu Account in Sweden with the App on Apple Devices

  1. Sign out of your iCloud account.
  2. Create a new iCloud account based in the US.
  3. Download Hulu.
  4. Sign up for Hulu from your phone.

That’s how you get Hulu in Sweden on your Apple devices while also creating a Hulu account.

As far as why you need to create a new account, if you didn’t and change the details on your current account, you would lose everything.

If you already have a Hulu account and don’t want to go through all this effort to watch Hulu in Sweden on your Apple device, you can download Chrome and enable desktop mode instead.

How to Get a Hulu Account in Sweden on Android Devices

On Android devices you do actually need to change the details in your current account.

  1. Connect to a US VPN server.
  2. Go into your Play Store.
  3. Press on the 3 little bars on the top-left of the screen.
  4. Click on Account.
  5. You should now see an option to switch your store to a different location.
  6. Download Hulu.
  7. Sign up for Hulu from your phone.

If you sign up for Hulu using the Play Store, that should do the trick for creating an account.

How to Watch Hulu in Sweden on the Big Screen

If you want to watch Hulu in Sweden on your TV, the options are limited.

That’s because most TV platforms don’t support VPN services.

Whether that’s the Apple TV, Chromecast, or Roku. The same applies to most Smart TV platforms not including Android TV.

And this is where we recommend two options.

  1. You connect your laptop to a TV via an HDMI cable.
  2. You get the Amazon Fire TV Stick.

As far as the Amazon Fire TV Stick goes, it supports VPN services, and that’s what makes it an incredible platform for streaming.

You can read more about whether the Fire TV Stick is worth it in our guide on it.

If you don’t currently have one, when you get one, create an account based in the US so you can download the Hulu app.

Otherwise, if you already have it:

  1. Go to your current Amazon account in the web browser.
  2. Press on Accounts & Lists and then go to Manage Your Account and Content.
  3. Change your region to be in the US.
  4. Go to your Amazon Fire TV device. Select Settings and My Account.
  5. Deregister and sign back into your account.

That’s How to Watch Hulu in Sweden

If you want to watch Hulu in Sweden, these are the 3-steps to doing it.

And the best thing about this guide? That the same also applies for platforms like DAZN and many others.

It’s about connecting to the right server that supports the platform you want to use and having the right payment method.

And if you aren’t sure about something, at PrivateVPN we have guides on almost all entertainment services out there.

...If it happens that we don’t solve your question, you can, of course, always also reach out to our award customer support.

Don’t forget about the 7-day trial with no need for a card.

Disclaimer: While PrivateVPN has been supporting Hulu for years, due to the nature of why VPN services don’t work well with platforms like Hulu, PrivateVPN just like any other VPN service, cannot guarantee that Hulu will work 100% of the time.
