Want to watch Paramount+ in the UK? While it recently launched in the Nordics amongst other regions, it is yet to launch in the UK, with that most likely not happening anytime soon. That’s why in this guide we’ll go over how to watch Paramount+ in the UK in 2021.
...But first...
If Paramount+ has launched in regions like Poland and the nordics, you might be wondering why you can’t watch it in the UK.
For several reasons.
For example, Paramount+ has Champions League rights in the US.
...But to show the Champions League in the UK, that is a huge cost, and not only is it a huge cost, but rights for events like this are often sold exclusively.
As to Paramount+, it used to be called CBS All-Access before it rebranded going into 2021.
What do you need to do exactly to make Paramount+ work in the UK?
Right now if you go to Paramount’s website, it will know that you are in the UK, and thus it will take measures to prevent you from accessing the platform.
Paramount has to do that not to be breaking any contract agreements.
How do you bypass this issue?
By using a VPN service.
VPN services allow you to virtually change your region, without moving, to for example be in the US while in reality being in the UK.
...Is it as simple as using an American server when using a VPN service?
Not quite.
Paramount like all other platforms are aware of VPN services, and since they can’t show that content to them, they also need to make efforts against them, which is why most VPN services don’t work with Paramount.
...And that’s where PrivateVPN comes in as a service that focuses on entertainment, and making sure that services like Paramount+ as well as Hulu and DAZN work.
PrivateVPN has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars on Trustpilot. Perhaps that’s one of the many reasons why.
...If you do already have a Paramount+ account, then in your case, that is it. If not, continue reading⬇️.
It’s not quite as simple as providing your details and paying to create an account.
Paramount used geo-payment blocks to prevent people without cards issued in the country “they are in,” from watching.
The solution?
To sign up via your mobile device.
That’s because Paramount+ doesn’t take care of payments on mobile devices. Apple and Google do. And they do not enforce such blocks.
...There is however one catch. You will need to change the region of your app store to first download the Paramount+ app which is essential for this.
If you would like, you can sign back into your previous account after you have done that.
This might sound like a formality, but in reality, it’s not quite as simple to watch Paramount+ on a TV in the UK.
Most smart TVs and smart TV platforms such as Apple TV, Chromecast, and Roku, do not support VPN services, thus making it hard.
The solution? Either get an Amazon Fire TV Stick which does work with VPN services, or otherwise to simply connect a laptop with a TV via an HDMI port.
Already have an Amazon Fire TV Stick? Then you will need to change the region of your current account.
...But if you just ordered an Amazon Fire TV Stick, then simply select for your region to be the US or for example, in Sweden.
To sum up this Paramount+ in the UK guide.
And do you know what the best thing about this guide is? That the exact steps apply to other services such as DAZN, Hulu, or ESPN+.

Disclaimer: While PrivateVPN supports Paramount+ and has done so for a long time, due to the nature of streaming services having to take efforts against VPN services, it cannot guarantee non-stop 100% of the time support, at all given times.
