Did you recently get a Fire TV Cube? Do you live outside of the US? Do you want to watch Hulu outside of the US on the Fire TV Cube? Easy. Well, not so easy, but we know how to do it, so we’ll help you figure it out.
Rights. Rights for movies and shows cost. And Hulu? Hulu does an incredible job that the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime fail on in terms of showing shows that are going on, right now. With Hulu, you can watch the newest episode of a certain show, a day after it’s released, and that’s pretty incredible. But it also costs, and providing that worldwide would be extremely costly. And for people to use this worldwide, would not be great for companies holding these rights. Hence Hulu is pressured enormously. The result? You not being able to watch Hulu outside of the US on the Fire TV Cube or any other device.
And there are three steps to solving this issue. They also aren’t easy, but if you want to watch Hulu, you need to register, and you need to be able to fool Hulu into thinking that you are in the US. Oh, and of course, you also need to download the Hulu app on the Fire TV Cube.
This isn’t the most important part, and perhaps you already have an account, and if so, you can skip this part, but if you want to watch Hulu outside of the US on the Fire TV Cube, this is the hardest thing to do.
To register a Hulu account, go to the Hulu the website on your phone or computer. You also need to have an American card. And that’s a problem for most people.
Later on, you can use vouchers to pay, but initially, you need to pay with a card. My advice? Ask a friend in the US to help you out. Seriously. Either ask them to pay for it or ask them to buy you some prepaid card in the shop.
You can also try online virtual cards although your success rate with using one might not be that great. It’s about trying out until you get it to work. Do some research as the methods that work change all the time.
But you also need to fool Hulu, in order to register and overall watch Hulu outside of the US on the Fire TV Cube.
Do you want to watch Hulu outside of the US on the Fire TV Cube? You need to fool Hulu into thinking you are in the US. That’s the only option available if you don’t want to fly to the US every time you want to watch Hulu.
And for that, you need a VPN. A VPN is a virtual private network, and once connected to it, and connected to a server in a different country, you will virtually be there meaning that as far as the internet is concerned, you will be able to watch Hulu if connected to an American server.
BUT MOST VPN SERVICES DON’T WORK WITH HULU!
If Hulu has to make sure people in other countries can’t watch Hulu outside of the US on the Fire TV Cube, then, of course, they will know that VPN services exist. And due to that most VPN services don’t work with Hulu.
PrivateVPN? It has working American VPN servers that support Hulu.
Create an account with PrivateVPN. Download the client which is available on the Fire TV Cube, and connect to a Hulu supported server. Easy? Yep.
But wait, what about the Hulu App?
The Fire TV Cube has several app store locations. The Amazon Appstore? If you want Hulu to be seen in it, well, it needs to be the American one.
For that, you need to go into the Amazon website. Do it on your laptop or computer, if you can. Go into Accounts & Lists followed by Content & Devices. There you need to update your location to be in the US. And make sure to use a real address. For that search for an address generator on Google.
After that, you need to deregister your Fire TV Cube by going into Settings followed by My Account, and then lastly by pressing Deregister. You then need to wait for a few moments and provide your details again. Except,
this time, you will see American content.
You might still have problems though. For instance with downloading Hulu even though you see it. Your current payment method might be that problem. You might need to delete it, or otherwise even add one that’s in the US, which should not be a problem if you have a prepaid card for Hulu registration. And virtual cards work very easily with this step. Just look for one on the internet.
After that, you are ready to go.
Whether you want to watch Hulu outside of the US on the Fire TV Cube or the Fire TV Stick, the steps are the same.
They do differ across certain platforms though, and for that, we have other Hulu related posts, such as one about watching Hulu outside of Canada or the overall Hulu guide.
